Exploring the Jurassic Coastline

The Jurassic Coast is England’s only natural UNESCO World Heritage Site, stretching for 95 miles from Exmouth in East Devon all the way to Studland Bay in Dorset. At Ladram Bay, you are situated right among some of the first impressive rock formations along this famous route, which is characterised by striking bright orange cliffs and unique sea stacks that jut out directly from the water.

It is a brilliant stretch of coastline for exploring. You can hike along the South West Coast Path directly from the park for immense sea views, or head down to our sheltered, sand-washed pebble beach for rockpooling and kayaking. If you want to see the prehistoric cliffs from a different perspective, you can even take a coastal cruise from nearby Exmouth or hire a paddleboard to take in the spectacular views from the water.

If you fancy a change of pace off the park, you are just a short drive from tasting local English wine at Lily Farm Vineyard, or taking the family underground to explore the fascinating 2,000-year-old caverns at Beer Quarry Caves.

When you have different generations to keep happy, there is the free Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth, or visit Otterton Mill for a cream tea and a look at their 1,000-year-old working watermill.

For a memorable afternoon that does not require lots of walking, you can take a Stuart Line Cruise from Exmouth to see the Jurassic Coast from the water, or book a gentle evening stroll along the River Otter to spot the wild beavers.

You have the freedom to explore the coast at your own pace, knowing your comfortable base is never a long drive away.

Fun for the whole family

At Ladram Bay, keeping the whole family entertained feels easy because all the facilities are close together.

When the kids have energy to burn, they can tackle the Jurassic-themed adventure golf, clamber around the pirate ship in the outdoor adventure playground or drive the off-road crazi bugz. If the weather turns, you can instantly head to the heated indoor swimming pool with its interactive splash zone, the soft play area or the huge arcade.

Throughout the day, the park runs a relaxed schedule of kids’ crafts, activities, and interactive shows. As evening falls, you can settle in to watch live bands and tribute acts or join the nightly Bingo and games.

It gives the kids the freedom to play and gives you the breathing room to dip in and out of the fun without needing to plan every minute.

Reviews

Ladram is such a wonderful, family-friendly, safe, and welcoming park. We have visited before, and we are always delighted with how clean the facilities are and how welcoming ALL the staff are. Everyone from the gate staff, shop staff, and entertainment staff couldn't be more helpful. The pool is great for kids and is always clean and warm. The play areas, including mini golf and play park, are well maintained, and as a family, we spent ages in this area.

One of our favourite places is the beach and the beach shack right on the beach. It is a beautiful view from the park and the beach, and it is so nice that you can buy drinks, food, and hire boards from the shack. There was plenty to do in the park, and we were impressed by how well-stocked the shop on site is. We didn't want to leave, and we hope to be back soon!!

It was our first time at Ladram Bay. We’ve heard so many great things, and it did not disappoint. We upgraded our caravan to a bay view, and this was amazing. The staff are amazing, welcoming, and friendly. The swimming pool was really good, we were there for a long weekend and used the pool twice (the children loved it).

The staff here are the best we have ever encountered at a holiday park. The pool is amazing and lovely and warm and the children’s entertainment was the best we have experienced. Thank you Ladram Bay.

The drive over the top is breath taking seeing the sea as you come past the Ladram Bay park sign and driving down to the main gate. Absolutely perfect location, brilliant friendly staff and absolutely great for value! The photos and views you can get from right in your van or lodge is insane. Even more so from the private beach only a minute or so walk away!
